MUSEUM TIME AFTER VERSAILLES.

TUESDAY 9TH FEBRUARY 2010.

We came back on the coach to the hotel after watching a bit of the 2006 version of Marie Antoinette with Kirsten Dunst (really interesting to watch how the lifestyle and fashions were represented in a modern way with the use of colour etc.) Then it was off to grab a scarf from my hotel room before heading off into Paris.

First of all, we went into the MUSEE D'ART MODERNE which was amazing. The amount of art work in such an incredible building was inspirational, and i took ALOT of photographs to remind me of the work I'd seen for future projects etc. Here are some of my favourites...

I loved this as it reminded me of Pantone colour palettes.

Then we went to its neighbouring museum,PALAIS DE TOKYO. Although the exhibitions were closed due to work being done on them, we were actually able to see the builders working on a really creative and what looked quite complicated art installation. This included a huge, ceiling height grey tube structure, almost like what hamsters play in!?

After spending faarrr too long in the incredible gift shop.. where I bought the BEST BOOK EVER, we then headed off to see the Eiffel Tower down the road.

Seeing it in the night was amazing, and in the mood for more sight-seeing, Me and Mily then headed off to the Champs-Élysées to see what shops were still open, as well as seeing the Arc de Triomphe.

At around 10pm we went to grab some food down a small cobbled street, in the cutest french cafe EVER. We both wolfed down duck, sautéed potatoes and salad, and were in love with the very french atmosphere, trying to translate what the group of people next to us were saying after we heard the names "Tom Ford" and "Kylie Minogue". No success, but guessed it would be something to do with the launch of Tom Ford's film, A SINGLE MAN.
After filling ourselves up, we wandered into publicisdrugstore which reminded me of a smaller version of Libertys in London. It mainly concentrated on food and wine, with a small wine cellar on the ground floor, but also sold magazines, clothes, and various bits and bobs. I saw the most amazing POSTCARD design, but at about 10 euros i thought I'd attempt to make them instead, as it was basically a piece of embroidery cloth with thread and a needle? All the same it was an amazing store, and well worth a visit.

Finished the evening with an AMAZING coconut and sucre crepe. YUM. Then back to the hotel with a definite cold coming on. OUCH.
